You cannot have failed to miss the big deal raised over the editing of the BBC programme on The Queen. The programme was edited to convey The Queen storming out of photoshoot when apparently she was walking in to the shoot. The production company responsible for this editing was RDF, who are also responsible for Channel 4’s Shipwrecked. RDF apologised to the BBC this week for this error.
This issue has really intrigued me as a few years ago I was working in television and this editing in order to create jeopardy was common place. I was often around the programme editors who would shuffle around events in order to create a ’story’. TV Channels wanted interest, intrigue and a compelling storylines which would ensure high TV ratings. In fact there have been numerous examples of members of the public who have complained about this but, now that it has happened to The Queen heads are rolling amongst the BBC Chiefs. This has led to major reviews and suspension. There is nothing new here in television companies editing in this way, but why make a big deal of it now when it affects the monarchy when for years it has affected members of the British public?
I am now wondering how I will be edited for the tribewanted tv programme coming out later this year and airing on BBC 2, as long as it is in my favour I dont mind!

vipbandmanager.com is creating a buzz
Filed Under The ramblings of a creative consultant | 1 Comment
It’s is really exciting to see the interest that is being generated behind the scenes over www.vipbandmanager.com. It is evident that a buzz is starting to take place in the music industry over this project and Sam has started to gain interest from National press which should hopefully be rolled out over the next few days.
There is a lot of behind the scenes stuff which I cannot really mention but it is certainly keeping me busy. Both Sam and I are confident that we will reach 50,000 registrations and achieve a global music first.
If you have not done so yet, register now for free on www.vipbandmanager.com

One entreprenuer, Adres Kello, has merged together the One Red Paperclip bartering principle with domain names in the hope for trading to a beautiful domain that is worth a million. Andres started with www.oneuglydomain.net and has worked on trading it for bigger and prettier domains. Using the power of the internet there have now been over 19 trades with some really nice and unique domain names in the mix.
Andres is a growing internet entreprenuer who has had some really interesting ideas including Record Breaking Domain, however it will be interesting to see where this goes. It may well be the case that trades keep happening without actually gaining much value, as, unlike One Red Paperclip, it is the viewers from the Namepros.com forum who decide what Andres should trade with next.
This is certainly one to watch, I have no idea whether it will work. But what I do firmly believe is that Andres is well on is way to coming up with the big idea, I am confident that he will get his desired million dollars one way or another.
