..no not Dragon’s Den… but I am pitching the Liverpool Culture Cafe concept to one of the Dragon’s, Peter Jones, and also Emily Eavis (daughter of Michael Eavis the owner of Glastonbury Festival) and Tim Campbell (winner of Sir Alan Sugar’s Apprentice).
I am in the semi-finals of the social enterprise competition whereby I have to give a 60 second pitch on the Liverpool Culture Cafe concept in London next week. This pitch will be filmed and the judges will choose four of the pitches to go through to the final. The final consists of the filmed pitches going on the social networking site Bebo and the audience will get to vote for who they want to win. The winner will recieve £5,000 and will be highly profiled at the Social Enterprise day on the 15th November.
This is really exciting for me as I am very passionate about the Liverpool Culture Cafe and it will be a great experience just to be able to share my vision with these people! I am REALLY looking forward to this and I am hastily putting together the best pitch possible!
Fingers crossed for the Liverpool Culture Cafe!

I am currently working on a number of projects and it feels like these things take so much time to get off the ground but there is a real excitement about some of the things that I am working on. I appreciate that this blog post is not really saying much, I cant give too much away nevertheless, despite being tired I am happy…

Mark Bowness’ Liverpool Culture Cafe shortlisted for an award
Filed Under The ramblings of a creative consultant | Leave a Comment
November the 15th is Social Enterprise day. The subject of this day is ‘The Future Face of Social Business - A showcase of entrepreneurs with a conscience’. The Minister for the Third Sector, Phil Hope will be attending alongside Social Enterprise Ambassadors and key media personnel from the National Press.
As a build up to this day an award is being offered, of £5,000 to a business or organisation which has a social enterprise purpose and which could be a positive role model. Liverpool Culture Cafe, is a concept which aims to bring people together who have a passion for Liverpool in order to develop a Culture Cafe, at the heart of Liverpool, which will impact the cities future and provide employment for those who have had little opportunity.
I am pleased to announce that LCC has been shortlisted for this award. The next step is for me to go to London and present a Dragon’s Den style pitch before celebrity judges who have a passion for social enterprise. These videos will then be uploaded to the social networking site Bebo and the audience will play a role in deciding who will ultimately win the award.
For the organisation that does with the award not only will it result in a financial contribution but also media profile… fingers crossed and a trip to London here we come!

Mark Bowness is asked to beta test UnLtd World
Filed Under The ramblings of a creative consultant | 1 Comment

One of the exciting aspects about developing tribewanted, a project which brings people together online in order to use the power of crowd sourcing to positively impact the real world, is the fact that I get asked to become a beta tester for exciting new online projects.
This week I have been asked to beta for a great social networking site called, UnLtd World.
Their own website states:
“UnLtdWorld empowers people to generate greater social impact in the real world by enabling them to share, shape and build knowledge, markets and communities through social networks.”
This is a fantastic website which brings together those who have one purpose, to make a positive impact in the real world. There are a number of other beta testers on the site who are all collaborating, sharing resources and gaining knowledge and already in the virtual world I am meeting people who I want to connect with in the real world.
I am giving a huge thumbs up to this website and I can really see how it will make a difference as it brings together like minded people with real vision and purpose. It could very well be the start of some exciting and powerful collaborations.
